It is common to arrive here without a presentable complaint. Life works on paper — work, a home, people nearby — and still there is the feeling of keeping someone else's calendar. It often comes with a turning point: the children have moved out, retirement is close, someone died, a diagnosis changed the arithmetic of time.

Purpose is not an answer that shows up in one session, and be wary of anyone promising to find it over a weekend. The road is slower: examining what you give up without noticing, what you do out of habit, and what you would choose again today. It is also the area with the least outward result to show — nothing changes on the business card — so what carries it is regularity, not the elation of the first conversation.
